LinkPink 2010 events took place on August 25 and 26, 2010 in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Prairies/NWT Region. The co-presenting sponsors were The Canada Safeway Foundation and the Edmonton Journal, with Incite and OOMPH! Events as co-organizing sponsors.
The two-day fundraising effort kicked off with a sold-out luncheon at the Shaw Conference Centre, which featured seven-time Tour de France champion and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong as the keynote speaker. The luncheon was followed by a question-and-answer period hosted by celebrity emcee Phil Liggett. Armstrong took questions from the audience ranging from advice on raising children to his favourite restaurant in Texas (Uchi).
On Day Two of LinkPink, Armstrong led a group of 43 cyclists, including Incite’s own Jared Smith, on a 100-km ride in Jasper, Alberta. The day concluded with an exclusive team dinner at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.
The team at Incite is proud to have contributed to this initiative. The fundraiser raised over $1.4 million toward creating a future without breast cancer. The money raised will be used by the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to fund, support, and advocate for relevant and innovative breast cancer research, meaningful education and awareness programs, early diagnosis and effective treatment, and a positive quality of life for those living with breast cancer.

Lance Armstrong was in Edmonton last week thanks to the tireless efforts of Incite, Oomph! Events, and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. I had the amazing opportunity to ride 100Km with him and 40 others we helped to recruit to pursue an aggressive million dollar fundraising goal.
