Incite Takes Home IABC Award

On Thursday, May 27, 2010, Incite took time out to celebrate marketing and communications excellence in the capital city with other local marketing and communication firms and consultants at this year's IABC Capital Awards Gala. The evening gala took place at the Art Gallery of Alberta and was hosted by the Edmonton branch of the International Association of Business Communicators.

Incite won the only Award of Merit of the night in the External/Community Events category for its work on the grand opening of Beaverbrook's Upper Windermere community. Beaverbrook is an Alberta land developer that has been building "communities for living" for over 15 years in the Edmonton area.

Incite organized a successful grand opening event for Upper Windermere, which occurred in January 2009. Features of the red carpet event included Lexus vehicles parked outside to give the feeling of luxury, ice sculptures, and catering from Urban Rustic Gourmet. There were on-site cooking lessons, interior design lessons, figure-skating demonstrations in the community's private leisure centre, and opportunities to win a trip for two to New York. Guests were treated to tasty tapas, hot chocolate, and UW-branded cookies. Incite's goals for the event were to promote the exclusivity and luxurious feel of Upper Windermere, create a major buzz, and get a lot of people out to the opening.

As the only company to win an award of excellence in the External/Community Events category, Incite is proud to celebrate this achievement with Beaverbrook and looks forward to planning many more equally exciting and successful community activities with this well-established local developer.
